...Addictions, Obsessions...
Everyone has some "too much" thing going on, affecting their lives...
Food, alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, cocaine, sleeping pills, any pills, any legal drug, any illegal drug, games, love affairs, sex, exercising, working, television watching, gambling, yelling, complaining, whatever...you name it!
The issue here is, whatever you do too much, that has a negative reaction to your life in one way or another, is something you are not controlling, it is controlling you.
Some where in your mind you want to change, to stop that addiction, however, you don't do it, just let it control you, while denying the fact.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about that and why do we do that, and the only reasonable explanation comes to be a escape from our inner reality, our true selves, a behavior we learn from our parents, relatives, society, etc, for a long time in human history.
Changing habits lead us to stopping doing something that was helping us to hide from ourselves, and make us feel comfortable with our illusions. That’s not easy, but in some cases, if we don’t make an effort to make some changes, we’ll end up with much more suffering stuff then what is already hidden inside us that we don’t want to face it.
Well, I don’t really believe anything is right or wrong, or even that there is a real true somewhere waiting for us to discover it and be saved for ever and be sent to a heaven paradise, but I do observe behavior patterns in this apparent chaos we live in, and similar paths tent to lead to similar results, as per doing something “too much” leads to an excessive result on whatever we’re doing “too much”, or is it everything only a result of whatever we believe?
Open to changes…to new experiences…to new patterns…
I just want to say something: Whatever!… LOL
